HAVE WE SEEN THE LAST OF NRG TRANSMITTERS?
Many have been wondering of late the fate of NRG kits and built up transmitters which have proved much liked and respected amongst LPFMers world wide, especially here in NZ. Executive member Les Dixon went to find out if and when our prefered NRG transmitter would be back in production. Here is the reply he got from Kanga who have taken over the NRG stable of transmitters.
Hello Les
The NRG kits will be listed again, but at present we are looking for replacement components that are now obsolete.
It has taken us longer than expected.
NRG Kits have not disappeared, and will be back better than ever

Dennis

LPFM TRANSMITTERS. DOES YOURS COMPLY?
Hello Les,
The link below takes you to all the details to comply. Much better then my letter. In short from March 2003 RCM marks and approval will be law.
In my case I have a new Australian Transmitter which is not approved as an LPFM transmitter. The company that built it is seeking approval. I will then get the appropriate marks and so become legal hopefully!! In short LPFM transmitter must meet the criteria.
regards
Rob
In New Zealand all radio and EMC (electrical and electronic) products must meet relevant standards before they can be sold or used in New Zealand. All ** radio transmitting products require labelling with a supplier code number and the supplier must maintain compliance folders. EMC products must in many cases be labelled with a c tick. From March 2013 this changes to the RCM mark. The Radiocommunications Act 1989 and Radio Regulations 2001 prescribe the framework while Notices made under the regulations detail the requirements
BOOK ON RADIO FORMATING
Here is a Radio Format Guide.http://www.nyradioguide.com/formats.htm
The following link is to a book which would be of interest to most LPFMers. Although written from a British perspective it is an easy informative read. “Essential Radio Skills-How to Present a Radio Show” by Peter Stewart. http://books.google.co.nz/books?id=WTZFsoEpT1QC&pg=PA229&lpg=PA229&dq=free+radio+presenting+basics&source=bl&ots=vugAiB_KbX&sig=eibf-a9uYh0-lMNQs8pH9pBXllk&hl=en&ei=A9DETrLxI6eYiQLKt_C6BQ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=8&ved=0CFUQ6AEwBzgK#v=onepage&q=free%20radio%20presenting%20basics&f=false
